I finally completed the Merc escort ship quest near Olympus Theta, and they gave me another cache location at some coordinate point on Olympus Sigma. The cache is supposed to hold Exodus missiles. So, I dock at the station near Olympus sigma, sell my missiles in case I need extra slots, then find the wrecked ship at the coord pts on Olympus sigma where the cache is supposed to be. How do I get the cache?? I tried the tractor beam on the wreck in many places, but only got Oxygen and some silver.
TIA.
Ed
P.S. Nevermind, I figured it out. I should've just been more persistent before posting.

LOL...Yes, you have to find the container inside the wreck....

I can see the container inside the wreck, but can't get close enough to tractor beam out the missiles. I try flying into the wreck but collision detection pushes me out.

Did you try using a terrain walker?

You can also try a smaller ship to squeeze through the openings of the wreckage or try different angles and location that gets you close enough to tractor in the cache!
usually there are some spots where you can get close enough or with a smaller ship where you can squeeze into the wreckage and also you can try a Terrain Walker as suggested by

I did try. My medium frame(Mirage) can not get close enough. And I am not far enough into the game to have purchased a walker.

I'd make note of the coordinates in the Nav Log (and take a screenshot as a reminder). Then come back and try again after acquiring enough credits to buy a terrain walker (TW). Either that or borrow a TW from somebody in MP ... to at least see if you can then tractor the pod.

I'am having a problem with this one as well, even with a TW. I've spent roughly 2 hours tring walking into, around, and jumping to the object floating in the middle of the wreckage that looks sort of like an uncut diamond that I'am guessing is the cache. But only end up with air or minerals.
Is there a certain spot you have to get to for the beam to lock on the object? What am I doing wrong here?

If this is the wreck in question, you can see the pod near the center of the following screenshot:

Both Denny and I managed to tap into the pod's contents. Mostly it's a matter of pressing the J key as your tractor beam keeps loading the wrong stuff ... until it focuses in on the pod. Either that or use a small civvy ship with five empty cargo bays ... giving you more leeway in what your tractor beam can access before the need to jettison stuff and littering the area with unwanted cargo containers.
