So what is the purpose of buying a station license in the game.
I noticed there was a button that said station License but thought it might be the license for the game i'm Playing. I pushed the button it asked do i want to purchase a license , I didn't because I didn't know what it really does.
Guess people probbley getting tired of my questions by now.
I have tried to look things up on my own.

Buying a Station licence?
Buying a station license means that you are welcome at the station. You get a 25% price discount at the station on all products (except fuel, I think).
It also means that the station shields protect you from enemies, so if you are tired of being shot at while you are docked, you can buy a station license.
Before you buy, however, you should think carefully about what you are doing.
The 25% discount applies to both buying and selling goods. This means that if you are trying to sell goods to the station, you will not make as much money.
So, the strategy is to buy licenses in hostile sectors. Find a station that already has lower prices than the other stations in the quadrant. Buy a license at that station. Now, you can buy goods from that station even cheaper and when you sell to a neighboring station (at which you do NOT have a license), you make a bigger profit.
In general, the stations in the middle of the quadrant have lower prices, but this is not always the case: go to each station to compare prices on items before you commit.
One more thing: once you buy a license, the game is automatically saved, so if you made a mistake, you can't undo it. Station licenses are a lot of money, so choose wisely.

Buying a Station licence?
Howdy, if you buy the license at that station you can buy things at a discount there and sell them for full price elsewhere so be sure to buy a license at a station that has things cheaper to start to max out your profit. It also lets you land without paying a docking fee it that station charges one. Don't worry about asking questions.

Buying a Station licence?
Is there some kind of system or mod or something that autmatically collects the prices of things as you find them out? I remember in one game it would automatically keep a record of how much something was but put a time/date stamp next to it to indicate how old that information was and that it might have changed since then.
Anything like that? Or do you have to manually write everything down?

for some things players have created auto logging (mapping and logging which systems you fly through for example)
for prices - not yet!!
I created a table with item names down the side and a lot of blank cells which I print out as necessary!
Prices do change quite quickly so keeping track is quite "challenging!!
