Difference between Mil/Civ ships

Post by Raemond »

Hey guys, just got the game a few days ago and so far I'm LOVING it. I'm just angry I didn't know about these games till steam got them! Arg!

Anyway, I started as a combat pilot and that turned out to be pretty difficult and I stunk pretty hard at killing things. However, I've since got over 100 kills under my belt and I am totally understanding it now. It's really amazing that at some point it all just CLICKS. It's unreal how that works, I love it. Reminds me of playing League of Legends in a weird way. I've also been able to make a few million $$ and got my civy rank up some.

Now I have the choice of sticking with the ferret or changing over to a hunter frame. I actually SAVE money by switching to a hunter. I haven't yet tried the hunter as I had to go work before I got the chance. What is the big difference between civy and mil ships? It seems the Hunter has more armor, assembly and crew slots, but less agility. Does this make a big difference?

Any advice is helpful and I'm looking forward to seeing you all on the servers!!

 As a rule of thumb, military ships are better for combat. And you want one with eight missile hard points. Other than that, do test flights to see which one maneuvers to your expectations. The bigger and stronger the ship, the slower it turns. Give and take.
