Race quest after IMG quest?

So I watched the tutorial on the IMG quest, thanks for that. Was going crazy trying to figure out how to even get to New Hope.

Anyways, still getting used to the game, but after completing the IMG quest, the new one i s to race a pilot. I make it to the waypoint, but I don't see any other pilot. Anyways, I fly through the tube, and that it, nothing else happens. Obviously I am missing something but not sure what?

Also, I ran out of fuel - any way to get fuel or do I have to load up a saved game/restart?

Fuel you can purchase at any Station, City dock or Carrier. You also can get fuel of a Player Built Fuel Processor Station or if you Have a Fuel Converter and mining tractor beam aboard you can get fuel from stars and nebulaes.

As for the Race mission: Wait at the entrance of the tube for the other Pilot to show up if the mission says you have been chalanged by another pilot. If it is a local Wager Race you just fly through the tube in the alotted time.

In either case of the race once you start flying through the rings you should see a countdown of the rings you fly through and a timer. If the race involves another Pilot you should also see his Rings countdown and progress.....

Oh yes, also make sure you accept the chalange before flying to the waypoint!.....

If you are stuck in space with no fuel you can do as you said and load a saved pilot or jump on line and ask for someone to bring some fuel to you. Good luck.
