Unable to save

Hey there interested party. I recently picked this game up off of steam and I'm having some bizarre bugs.

The first few days I was playing it, the game was moving at LIGHTNING speed. I would tap "W" and instantly be at max speed. I would hit F2 to jump and it would instantly happen. (I thought this was how the game was supposed to be until today, when it magically stopped and functioned at human speed).

The major issue I am having is that I cannot save my game. I created a callsign/pilot, did some missions, and when I went to save, the timestamp on the save game was not updated. I tried saving it as multiple new profiles, each new save would just copy over from where I had started. I logged out and back in, and the game had lost all of my progress. I have tried using both saves (normal save and quicksave). Both have failed.

My rig is pretty decent, and haven't noticed any problems playing the game.

4.00GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT
Windows 7 Ultimate

Any help would be much appreciated.

I assume you weren't trying to save while still in the middle of a contract. Right?

Others have reported fast play also. An update to address this isssue is being worked on I believe!...
