Hello all!

Hi! I saw EM on steam a few days ago, and when i read about it i was really impressed. When i tried it i was even more impressed! Anyway i have a quick question:

Would it be better to start out and mess around in SP to get used to the features before going to MP, or would starting out in MP be better? Thanks :)

Hi LowfatEnvelope, welcome to the game and forum...Hope to see you out there some time!...
I would say find a Server with a few people on not to many who also are experienced pilots(you can check with the tilde or scroll lock keys once online in multiplay!) If there are a lot of players then chating and getting answers from the expierenced pilots can be difficult unless you have Voice Chat!

Also you can try the tutorials in the demo and can spend as much time in the training mode. And there are some informational sites to check out on basic combat skills you can browse this forum for them!....etc.......;)

LFE.

Great handle by the way.

As much as I hate to admit it Mr MuchTalk (you will see why if you hang around the forum long enough!) is correct. Get onto MP and you will get a lot of help from the more experienced pilots, so you need to pick your servers carefully.

Have fun and see you out there.

Hi LFE (great handle indeed!) and welcome!
As the guys said, in MP you can learn about combat _much_ faster, from the vet pilots! However, it may also be a bit intimidating (depending on your personality type), even though folks are friendly and helpful.
If you want to ramp up faster, MP would be a great place to do that. If you want to take things at your own pace, stick with SP a little longer and try the IMG quest - that will help a lot!

Welcome again, and have fun!

 Yes, the IMG quest is a great place to learn the ropes. But about MP, when logging on to a server, use the tilde key (~) to check and see how many players are on line. And if most of them have little or no rank, expect the chat log to be flooded with questions ... making it difficult for vets to sort out who needs what.

Ok thanks for more responses :) I think i'll play on MP as from what i've seen on the fourms most people seem to say that MP is a good place to start due to the ability to get help and tips. Thanks again!

Yes it is, but beware out there. Space is a dangerous place and there are some Bad Aliens out to "welcome" you! If you see them I suggest you save, just in case you are their next target. But you will only be welcomed once then they will leave you alone. unless you retaliate of course then all bets are off!
