Camera controls and a few other questions.

Post by chickdigger802 »

Been playing around the demo after hearing about this from Shacknews.

I noticed how in the youtube videos the player seems to be able to manually rotate the camera in the cutscenes, but in the game i can only look left right up and back. Is there anyway to do some manual looking without picking up a track ir thing?

Next question, I'm stuck at the first mission i pick up as the 'soldier class'. Find a lost object near the waypoint. I get to the waypoint yet am confused at what to do next.

Finally, are those ground 'blotches of grass' suppose to look so bad and low res?

Anyhow I'm pretty intreged with this game already. Last space game i played was Darkstar One which was fun, but pretty disappointing. Hopefully this might be good after I figure it out a little.

Yes, depending on the view. For the third person target padlock view, use the Insert, Home, Page Up, and End keys as arrow keys to move around your ship. Use Delete and Page Down for zoom in and out. Likewise for target padlock.

Just fly close enough to just about bump into it. Once you're close enough, the contract will complete.

Maybe, it's on the target list for improvement. Also, turning up anisotropic filtering can sometimes improve the detail/appearance slightly (along with making very significant improvements with other texture details).

Hope you enjoy it and if needed, there are several tutorial videos in the Universe section of the game's website here: http://www.starwraith.com/evochronmerce ... iverse.htm

Cool, but I kinda want a more 'analog' control over camera like they had in the videos. Like with the use of a mouse/ analog stick/joystick. Anyway to achieve that?

Maybe you can point me to a particular scene as pretty much everything recorded in that video uses the game's camera controls. There is also the fly-by view and cinematic view, which may provide what you're looking for, although not with the manual controls of the two I mentioned.

hmmm I flew close enough (so close no numbers are there, just 'NAV') and still no complete mission. Is it suppose to pop up? "Mission Complete"?

I think the free cam mode should be made available in third person too

I was hoping to see better flora in mercenary... let's hope for an update in the next months ;)
