Hi from a newbie
Just saying hello. I am a long time X player, who has been thinking about this game for some time, and took the plunge when Mercenaries was released. Still working things out, but seem to have the basics of mining and solar panel cleaning and finding new ways to die in a spaceship, enjoying it so far.

Ah yes, dying...there's quite a few ways to bite the dust. I think my favorite is getting caught in a sun's gravity field while syphoning fuel and then burning up.
But that's just me, there's plenty of other ways to go. Self-extermination due to a botched torpedo launch also is spectacular.

Welcome!
Yes, I found quite a few interesting ways to die when I first started playing Evochron, especially when using the jump drive (who parked that bloody planet there?!).
Anyway, hope you enjoy the game, it's certainly a real gem once you get the hang of it.

about like me having my nose against an asteroid while mining, and hitting F2 instead of F3.....
at least the explosions are cool looking to ease the pain
