Question about Evochron Mercenary

Okay first of all i feel kinda stupid asking but as i am currently unemployed funds are hard to come by. Anyway, my question is this, is this game offline (like minecraft has its offline mode) because as it stands right now i don't have internet access (I'm at a friends house writing this)

Welcome to the forum and hopefully the Game. Yes Mercenary can be played in SP (single Person) mode as well as MP (Multi-person) mode. I think most of us started in SP mode until we thought we had figured the game out.

Hi and welcome.

It works both off and online with the
same profile. Any progress you make
is saved to your profile, it doesn't matter
if you are in MP or SP.

In other words, any progress you make as a pilot in single-player will carry over into multiplayer when (and if) you get Internet.

When you get access to the internet the MP servers are provided by other players for free ie no fees or subs

Single player works just fine. There is no DRM that requires constant connection and if you're buying through Steam no worries on that either. I purchased the game through Steam but due to memory conflicts I have to run it with Steam closed. If you have zero ability to download files to your home PC you may want to grab Large Address Aware or whatever the app is called. I had to use it in order to run the game.

Also the game can be easily modded so make sure to grab the really flashy mods like Capital Ship models and Shields graphical enhancements. Burn all this to a CD along with the EM installation files then you should be good to go.
