Spoiler Alert
I've been on the forums for a day or two (without an account til now) looking for an easy way to make money in Evo. Mercenary, and all of the ones I see involve the system Pearl, and they're hostile. I have no idea how to make them friendly, so I'm looking for either a way to make them friendly, or a different trade route. I already made almost a full million from mining diamonds in Sapphire.

The age old question: How to I make more money?
Well there are a number of good ways to make money,
1. Do contracts. You can do them just about anywhere, and once you get the hang of what you have to do in each one, they go by really quickly and it's pretty good money/time.
2. Mining. Obviously you've figured out that diamonds are easy to mine and good to sell. Platinum is the same way but even more valuable. And the further you get from Sapphire, the more they sell for. So a good idea (if you are nervous) is to mine a good amount of platinum/diamond in Sapphire (Because it's safe) and take a trip past Thuban or Fauston, and just keep going until you find a good place to sell.
3. Join a clan. Clans have a system where members get a regular salary based on the number of systems their clan holds and their civilian rank. It's certainly slower money, and you don't have to do much, but it's a good passive way to earn credits.
4. Harvest and sell fuel. Something I learned pretty recently is that when you are in the refueling screen, you can manually enter a value. By entering a "-" in front of the number, you can sell fuel! And with an equipment called the "fuel converter" you can hang out in nebulae with you mining beam on and it will slowly fill your fuel tank. I've made a good 250,000 per fuel run, so it can be pretty lucrative. The only downside is that it's really slow, especially if you have a large fuel tank.
As to reducing hostility, I don't know too much. I know that contracts for factions will improve their relations with you in that system, but I haven't really been able to make any significant changes because it seems to take A LOT of contracts to change anything. As to the overall "Hostile" status of a system, it doesn't change at all in multiplayer! But I don't really know what that means.
Welcome to Evochron Mercenary, Deliphin! I hope some of this helped, and I look forward to seeing you in space!

Welcome aboard Deliphin! Completing contracts/missions, mining the "good stuff", turning commodities into tech/eqpt at constructors then selling for profit; and finding that "sweet" trade run all combine to raise your cash/credit balance. You might try the Virgo HP. It's not all that difficult to locate. There's a hard-wired trade station there, as well as some player-builts. System is currently "managed" by the [FF] boyos, so you might entreat their largesse first. Ace-kill contracts top out at 186k credits, and provide only 4-5 "reds" for your demolition enjoyment. At times, they can be a challenge, but it's do-able.
Or, if your personal safety is first and foremost, try Atlas or Wolf. Both are Good systems, like Saphire, but pay way better per contract.

Hi and welcome.
Trading all kinds of stuff is by far the most profitable way to gain cash.
I can send you a u2u with some hints if you want. Don't want to write it here so I spoil anything for other pilots.

Yeah, trading is what I'm looking to do, I'm used to other games where it's the most profitable, and I'm guessing it's the same here. From post: 143042, Topic: tid=9708, author=SeeJay wrote:Hi and welcome.

EDIT: Oh btw, in the u2u, can you explain to me any downsides of joining a clan? Like, will you have to do stuff to help it, or is it just system control?
