What is this "M" Beside my set velocity and why is it locking my set velocity? I it happened after I Upgraded to a new engine and now I can't stop my engine.

It indicates speed match, which means you may have bumped the M key at some point. Just press the M key again to turn it off.

Hi and welcome.

If you press 'M' you match your speed
with your current locked target. Just
press M again.

Thanks. I have one more question.

Is there any tutorial out there in a sort of "Your first days in Evo" or the like? I say this because, well, I see the contracts, I see the mining, I've jumped into two different systems to just do contracts and mining, and I sort of feel like i'm missing something. I looked through the sticky thread and I didn't see any "Your first days" kind of tutorial in there, just wondering if you know of any? Or any you could point me to?

Thank you, I just want to make sure I enjoy the game fully. I Don't expect everything pointed out, but if all I am to do is mine and do contracts, I think my venture here may have been at a loss.

Does the mercenary quest work if I chose Miner/Trader when I selected my style of play for my pilot?

Yes. As long as you select a profession where you get a civilian ship (as opposed to a military ship), you'll be offered the I.M.G. Quest.
