Storage and Hanger Fees

Post by Cargo »

I have some gear stored in one of my stations and I'm getting a Station Fees collected message around the same time as the Hanger Fees transferred message, am I paying storage fees to myself? If so, is storing items or docking ships in a player built station essentially free?

Sorry but even though you own the station you have to pay the storage fee. Also if the station is destroyed you lose everything there so it's better to store at a game generated station as they can't be destroyed.;)

Actually, you don't even own the station - you just get to name it and/or use it for clan purposes but you do get a free license so you can buy (and sell :( ) things at a 20% discount - so buy from your station and sell elsewhere! :D

 Yep. The first message lets you know which station is charging the fee ... comes in handy if you forgot where you left those items.

There's also a button in the news console screen labeled 'view hangar contents' (or something like that), that will give you a run-down of all locations you have items stored at:;)

As a general rule, it's better to store equipment in an official station, not a player built station. The reason is obvious. Player built stations can be destroyed and anything stored inside, is destroyed along with it.

As already stated above. LOL. Senior moment.
