Not a question, but I thought it might be fun to share. Morale at the end of the tale.
So, I was finally working the "making lots of creds" tip in the pearl system. Had just finished my second run, and was landing at the hidden planet and score at least 16 million or so. Entered the city, and then thought to myself, "hmmmm.... better save right now so that I can try buying a couple of different things and see how they work out". After all, there are some really nice toys to buy at the hidden planet.
So, I press ESC, which of course pops me out of the city and into the docking screen, save the game, and then press "Enter the City" again. Of course, this meant I had to pay the docking fee again, which was around $113K. It was at this time that I realized that all my creds were tied up in equipment and I only had 87K creds to my name. Not only was that not enough to get into the station, but it wasn't enough to get into any station in the Pearl system.
And my previous save was like way too long ago.
Argh!!!!
Lesson: Always carry at least 500K in creds, and be real careful when you save.
