You could run two profiles with two careers - civvy and military :)

It does not take long at all to get a brand new crew and bring them up to 100% skill and loyalty. Pay them gross amounts of money until they are at 100% loyalty. If you are really afraid they will leave get a tractor beam and fuel converter and do some exploring without docking until they get to 100% loyalty. It would be nice to pay the crew to be on call when you are on another ship.

Or do contracts from a carrier. They can't leave there!;)

Or, say drop the crew off for some R and R on certain planets. The more cash you leave with them, the longer you can be away without worrying about that they will be gone when you get back. But, if you forget to pick them up and come back some x amount of time after you told them you'd be back, then they have a certain escalating chance of being gone when you return. If you leave more than one crew member, they each leave (on another ship) according to their loyalty rating. So, the one(s) with low loyalty will leave first. The highest loyalty crew will leave last. Or, something like that.

You could even have it so that if you leave them on certain planets/cities, with a certain amount of money, and you get back within a certain amount of time, their loyalty will have INCREASED. So, as an example, if I had some employees, took them to Las Vegas, gave them each 20,000 dollars, and said "have fun, be back in two days to pick you up", I pretty much think that they would think I was one heck of a great boss : )

Of course, it could go the other way on a back water planet and you didn't leave them much money. You could come back the next day and they would all be gone.

Gee, Vice. Just add this to everything else you are doing and make all these changes for me : )

I love this game.

Thanks,

Tarl
