Well, well, well...

Since Privateer I've never found more addicted and "real" filling space-sim game. Mainly, because of simplicity of simulatnion, less mood, and so on...
Like many times before, I start with the Evochron Mercenary (like with X3) with hope I find my space-heven again.
After few hours of beginig what I see, what I fill...
The EM have a lot of adventages to others simply space-shooters. Planets with bases, maining, clear-cockpit, fuel you need to fly - great, great, great!!! I love it and I know, any game witout it will never be perfect.
But, in the other hands. No comunication and real interaction with other space-travelers, no real comunication with base, no real filling to be mercenary - like in Privateer with bars, gild romms, and other... Even simply interactive and comunication system like in X3 series, or very simply base background like in Privateer gives the game a gret adventage and the beauty mood. Also docking system coud be a little better like in X3
There are also some big problems: map-system, and general game contoling - sell and buy-system or other operations withour any approving, one click and... money loss. The same with jettision cargo... afer loseing the whole ore and dimonds from my contrac, very quickly I have changed the configuration of jettision from J to Alt+J... But how many other dengerous I waiting on me because of missing one clik ;-)
So... At the monent EM is like strong coffe without sugare - You need it, but it's still not so testy like you want.

Ok, I must to improve my ship and go on...

Yeah, I kinda had the same feeling. Flying with mouse my self (Never got used to joysticks), clicking "jump" while holding alt (that is necessary to be able to click it with mouse) changes navigation point, so You end up jumping few sectors away and failing mission at same point.

But, however annoying it might be, I still need that "coffee", with sugar or not.

I've heard multi-player add whole new experiences, maybe that's where You can find Your sugar. Although, personally I found servers either full (unable to join) or empty, so...

I've noticed many commonly pressed buttons right next to things you rarely want to press, and if you do, may lose something. (I.E. Jettison cargo between news console and mission/items button.)

You can jump with F2 even with the nav console closed, but that is between F1(Nav) and F3 (Inventory). But even that seems to have caused many people to jump into asteroids, stations, and other things unintentionally and die instantly.

This is an issue I have myself, but I've mostly just become more careful about how I do things. Options are; remap the controls (not possible with the menu buttons I think) or learn to be careful.

 Reassigning F2 was the first thing I did ... right after slamming into the side of an asteroid.

The jettison cargo next to the news console got me to jettison my cargo unwillingly a few times. I also agree that for components and important stuff like weapons, you should be asked to confirm if you want to sell or not.

I agree it would be nice for station to have more immersive menus, and i've mentionned it in the thread about things we'd like to see in future version.

For the communication thing, the upcoming expansion is gonna have a lot of new communicaton options, from ship to stations (you'll have to ask for docking permission), ship to AI controlled ship (for example you'll be able to buy info from AI ships) and all that stuff.

My coffee is really "crema e aroma", but the sugar...
After one week flying in the space some reflection.
The most of the problems are with interface. When I've changed keys - and made blocks of action and information keys, the console of buying is the most dangerous.
Another thing. I can't crash or damaged my ship in contact with large ships, small ship, asteroids, or huge rocks in space. If I can't, so I haven't to avoid them, because any object in space can't harm my spacecraft. Very confused. Can I change it?
The anons of Raynor, the communication up come, is the great info. The silence in the space is really annoying. I long for any creature or man in the space, in the base, or in the town so much. Where are the bars with the people or creatures waiting for the transport form one to other base? Where are the guild rooms with crew members to make contract deal with me? Have You ever seen a driver taking a hitchhiker without visual contact with him? Has any boss hired a man on important contract without talking face to face?
And... The game is good, if I can imagine it's real like in live. So, We can play constantly, without reloading previons version of save, from beginning to the end, if we make wisdom decisions and we fight with careful or brave when we need. Like in live - be brave and wisdom... and patient - is the best way.
At the moment I'm ready to make my 3 start from beginning :-) although any collision with enemy pilots or items. Only because lack of logic or interface problems.
Yes - difficult way to be perfect. :-D
But I probably love the coffee.

You will explode if you fly at a certain speed into an astroid, Planet or Moon, Constructor station at the wrong angle, Carrier at the wrong angle. Ships and Stations have protective shielding so flying in to those is usssualy safe unless they are red!.......;):P:cool:
