Crew Members and Weapons

I can't figure out some things:

What do the letters in front of the crew member mean? (example H.N.A. Trade: Science Ops)

What does Yield for the weapons mean, damage?

"H.N.A" is the crew members name (initials)
yes yield = dammage

Yield is indeed damage. And the initials are just the names of the crew member.

I always thought the initials stood for the organization to which that crewmember belonged ... same as the organizations in the News.
