Hello I am new to the game, following learning best I can. Have ventured enough to get through IMG quest 6 in Saphire (Glacia) and was auto piloting to Olympus (delta)..Needless to say that I ran out of fuel at System N393
22801 :X 473 :SX
7007 :Y 0 :SY
32222 :Z 160 :SZ
I can carry only about 1k of fuel..need assistance as to how to get help to me, and also was there a jump gate I should have used? And if so why didnt the instructions for the quest series give me a clue to the fact I needed to use a jump gate? I seem to remember something about them in the brief tutorial, but a simple reminder would been nice ..Please help me , I have upgraded my ship fairly decent for a beginner I think and do not really want to start over.
You can check all the "known" jumpgate connections between systems by going to your nav computer and pressing the quadrant button. All systems will have their S(x,y,z) coordinates there and the lines connecting systems show the known jumpgate connections.
While I sympathize with you that some aspects of the game aren't very well explained, that is part of the beauty of this sandbox style of game. You as the player develop skills to improve in the game as opposed to other games with arbitrary levelling systems or items that essentially play the game for you. Just think, this isn't a mistake you will quickly forget. From now on you will know to check your quadrant map for known jumpgate connections.
As for what to do from this point. My first suggestion is for you to load a recent saved game. If this isn't in your interest then you need to save your game where you are and go online and join a multiplayer server, any will do. Then simply press "enter" to chat and politely ask for assistance from other pilots to bring you fuel. Make sure you indicate all relevant coordinates (although from your post it seems you understand the coordinates/sector coordinates system the game uses) so that they can find you.
