Military ships cargo space

Post by Ora »

So I was looking at the military ships today after arriving in a warzone in my civilian Leviathan, and I started to look at the Ferret. I knew that all military ships came with one cargo bay, but I have had a couple players tell me before that they were currently running a military frame with five cargo bays. So I thought "Well maybe I can tack on a larger cargo bay when building my military ship in that case." Wrong. I tried to put a larger cargo bay on my military ship and got an error message stating that the item I had chosen cannot be added to my current ship frame. So what gives? Were those players I talked to before full of hot air? Is there no way to get a larger cargo bay on a military ship? If not, that kinda kills military ships for me. The way I make money is entering combat and salvaging antimatter from enemy ships, making it into fuel converters, and then selling them in Pearl or Alpha Centauri. Cargo space is essential for me, but so is combat performance. What am I supposed to do here?

"Hopefully you saved before getting a military ship because all military ships come with only 1 cargo bay"....If you did save just reload and fly your civilian ship again until your ready to change over. you also have the option of storing your civilian ship at a station for use later, but remember your crew will leave once you get a military ship so then you'll have to rehire a new crew when you decide to fly your civilian ship again. :)

I did better than that. I held off on getting a military ship entirely until I had more information. My rank is so low right now all I really have access to is the Ferret, and I think I like my Leviathan's heavy armor better than I like the Ferret's agility. Anywho, how do I go about storing a ship in a station? And once I store a ship in that station, do I have to go back to that very same station or can I get it at any station? What if my ship is in the hangar of a player-built station that gets destroyed? Will I lose my ship?

All military ships have only one Cargo Bay!.
The hangar bay for storage is like a rental storage space at that station. So you have to retrieve your ship from that same station you left it at and you have to pay a rental fee every cycle for as many cycles you leave it in storage. So you can put your ship in storage with all its equipment and cargo you do not want to loose. Buy a nother cheap frame at that same station then fly to a Carrier and trade that cheap ship for a military one!

If your ship was stored in a Player build Station it will be gone if the Station got destroyed since there is no Station hangar bay anymore to enter and retrieve it from!..;)

Well then. I suppose I'll just have to get my civilian ship out when I've got trading on the brain and get my military ship out when I've got combat on the brain. Thanks everyone.

You can use a Combat ship for better trading to make more profits then a civilian ship!
This should be illegal in my opinion but hey it is not!....;):P:cool:

That would be a Spoiler to answer your question. A clue: All you need is your jumdrive for trading runs!
