co-op missions

Post by zerome1221 »

So me and a friend set clan tags together and were glad to see that we were rewarded by being shown as green to each other. So now that we have played like this for a few hours, built stations and whatnot in remote regions. Someone asked if we had any regions, how do we own a region? I was not aware you could until we heard it from a few people, someone online said special contracts but how do we get those contracts and what benefit is there to owning a region?

 To own a territory, you concentrate doing all your contracts in a cluster of sectors (usually near a star). Make sure you're flying with your clan tag attached (for example: [IM] Marvin). You get one percent credit for each completed contract ... per pilot (in other words, if [IM] Marvin and [IM] Dennymala do a contract together, they rack up 2% each time). Additionally:
  • Build up to 50 trade stations inside your territory, tagging them (example: [IM] Starbucks) to keep your percentage from dwindling too quickly.
  • Check the Quadrant Map ... it will display who owns what territory and by how much (%).
  • If you attempt to take over some other clan's territory, you must first reduce their percentage. You must also contend with pilots associated with that other clan. Most likely, they won't be too happy about your attempt at takeover.

co-op missions

Don't know if it relates to clans or not but i was on with a friend tonight and we were wanting to join forces and complete missions together and "Clan up." I have read somewhere before that you are able to do missions together however i am unable to find any way to do this. Can someone point me in the right direction to achieve this.

Also if i am wanting to create a clan with him is it just as simple as adding the clan tag in brackets before the player name???

co-op missions

Hi,

My friend and I also made our own clan for our own Multiplayer server. To do missions together, we have both gone to the same station or city, then ONE person selects a mission from the selections. Upon taking the mission, both players will be notified that you are on a current mission (I am pretty sure that you can only do one mission at a time as well). In order to get credit, you both need to do the mission together, making sure to both be in the same sector. Once you complete the local mission objectives, you both will see that you each got paid for the mission completion.

This does not work for passenger missions because only the ship with the passenger gets paid for transporting that passenger to the intended destination. There may be a few other types of money making activities that are also not shared, but you can definitely do the main quest missions together as well.

Also, others may be able to say more about how far apart you can be and so forth, but all I know is that it does work.

 Right ... when it comes to taking a passenger somewhere outside the sector. But co-op missions only require you to be in the same sector as the person accepting the contract. And stay there until the contract is completed. You don't even need to participate (which, if it's a delivery contract, applies only to the person accepting the contract ... leaving you to grab a beer and wait ... preferably away from the station, else you might accidently bork the contract). Also, the higher the rank of the pilot accepting the contract, the more you both/all get paid.
