Wealth + income

Ive been playing couple days in SP this one is real good game, but now ive encountered some problems with the main quest taking out 8 enemy fighters, its the Imb quest. anyways thats not the main problem my main problem is to cope with that situation id need to upgrade my frames to get enough space for crew missiles cargo etc. but one more upgrade is about 1mil and my largest amount of funds has been like 200k so i think ive missed some big thing here, i started as miner but many of the quests and tasks are fighting or racing etc. and ive put all my money for cargo and mining stuff, is there any way to get like good income all the time that you dont have to travel all the time to harvest diamonds etc for poor 100k or so and really how to make big money? and one more kinda off topic how to get other "allies" around the universe to your own fleet or is it only available for military career? thanks already

The IMG quest will lead you to some more profitable situations so stick with it and you will do just fine!.....

y y but the current img quest is rather hard and id need to upg my whole ship which would cost like 1mil ++ since im miner not fighter, and anyways how could i destroy those gigantic cruisers? o_O they shoot me with like infinite flak + missiles :

I do not remmember having to destroy any big cruisers in the quest. All you need to do is stay out of missile range of any hostile cruiser and lure the enemy escorts away from it and destroy the escort enemy fighteres 1 by 1!...

well yea its not optional but if i want really to continue my IMG missions i need to go to sierra, and its kinda very hostile, and immed i warped from the gate there i appeared in middle of lots of baddies

including couple big ass cruisers and thers a lot of fighters i cant even dock to the nearby station since they all come to shoot me, where are the good guys now... me and my mining shipp wreckacke

One option is to jump on MP and ask for help in some of the missions. There are enough pilots on-line now days that would be glad to help you shoot down the reds. As far as upgrading your ship the quest need not be done right away so do some more mining and/or trading to build up your cash reserve and get the bigger ship THEN continue on with the quest. Good luck out there.

allright thans for the advices! one more.. about the income, thers really no way to build up income? or is the only cash u going to get from missions from stations and mining with the mining/tractor beam some roids?? does your own built stations gather income all the time or something? and atm all the good money tasks are against like 8-10 enemy planes and i really did not choose to be fighter but the most ive got cash atm is from that type of missions or have i missed something from my mining career?

Most people start with mining until they get enough dough and knowledge to start trading high end goods and weapons to really start making the bigger bucks. Missions don't pay that much and can use up more money than you make if you are alone. You can also jump onto MP and team up with other players doing contracts which will then give you help,experience and cash as everyone gets money from the contracts.

Rest assured that financial assets are very easy to come by as you get more experienced (obviously). Taking on lots of reds for the first time is a bit difficult, but taking them one by one is the best way to get to grips with it. Thetiebers advise regarding jumping into MP is spot on. There will be lots of help there, and even if there are no vets, I am sure some noobs would welcome the opportunity to "get in amongst it" with a load of reds!

Keep at it pal, and you will find the experience so rewarding.

The best money can be made in this game by buying low and selling high. The best runs can make you a little over 20 million per run. The big clue for this comes after the final IMB quest. For trading you only need to move around fast and know how to fly right into a station. I once, by accident, sold my shield generator and had to fly in one of the most unfriendly areas without any shields at all, and as long as I came docked and left quick I was ok.

Early on the best way to make money:

mining goods (as you mine just jettison what you don't want until you have the materials you want)

buy other raw goods you can not mine

take goods to a construct station to make an item out of the goods

sell the goods (or keep the good stuff)

repeat

Docking quickly:

point your nose level (not pointing up or down using the HUD)

from this you can dock in most stations

for gates make sure you are pointing 0 deg or 180 deg on the compass

for carriers the compass should be 180 deg

right click the destination on the map and hit F2 (or click on the launch button)

if it can not make it in one jump go on autopilot (be sure to turn it off when you are done Alt+f)

to charge up quickly between autopilot jumps use the [ ] keys to make your weapons recharge more quickly
