Escape Pod Rescue Mission - Please Help!

Post by Maverik770 »

I got a mission to recuse an escape pod and return it to the station. I jumped out to the mission area, located the purple dot on my radar, found the escape pod, tractor beamed it in and then returned to the space station Eclipse (where I got the mission from) and nothing happens. I can see the escape pod in my cargo bay but I can't do anythign with it. How the heck do I turn in or "complete" this mission?

I have the excape pod in my cargo bay and I have returned to the original space station that gave the mission but yet it does not end or update or do anything. I'm sure I'm missing something stupid.

Also how do you sell stuff in general when docked? Like weapons, or cargo or anything?

The most frustrating thing about this game is that the most of the simple but extremely important tasks are never explained. But the game is amazing. Thanks for any help yall can give.

Maverik.

First of all check your contract again. You may have recovered the pod, but you may have to return to somewhere other than the station you got the contract from. Took me a while until I re-read "the fine print" although it is not fine, we just tend not to read the last bit!!!!

From what I recall, you sell stuff by left clicking the items in the cargo bays or the weapons pods.

See you out there sometime.

Also, was this in Multiplay or Single Play? Was this an IMG quest mission? If it was an IMG quest mission then what Dengar says is right!(Eventhough I hate to admit it..lol) Also make sure you do not have Auto docking disabled. If you have Autodocking disabled you have to open the docking manually for contract to complete!...;)

Escape Pod Rescue Mission - Please Help!

Thanks for the help guys. I'm in single player mode. Haven't even tried MP yet. I have no idea if it was an IMG mission or not. I don't even know what an IMG mission is or how to identify one. I got the mission from the Eclipse space station in the Lason sector or whatever it's called. I have been doing random missions at this space station since the start of the game as this is where the game automatically dropped me when I created my fighter pilot.

How do you check your current contract details?? I went back to the Eclipse space station after picking up the escape pod (And I could see "Escape Pod" in my cargo bay.) and docked there. I do have auto dock enabled, plus I know to push F3 to engage and disengage the docking window. But opening and closing the docking window did not complete the mission. I clicked the "View Current Mission" button within the space station and all it said was to "Pick up one of the escape pods and bring it back to the station." It does not specify which station. I just assumed to bring it back to the station I got the mission from, in this case the Eclipse space station I'm at.

Is there a way to view a more detailed view of the current contract? Perhaps I'm supposed to take the escape pod to a different space station, not necessarily the one I got the mission from?

Well, I'm not sure if it matters, but Eclipse is a carrier, not a station. I haven't spent much time in that part of the map, but I think there should be a station nearby, have you tried that?

I didn't even know there was a difference between a carrier and a station! Lol. That would explain why this thing is much smaller than the big ass station in this area. Yes, there most certainly is a major station nearby! I will try that and see if that does the trick! Thanks for the idea! Is there a way to view your current mission details when out in space?

Open your inventory screen (Shortcut F3) and click View Current Contract.

I was just going to say about the Eclipse being a Carrier and to try the Station. Yes escape pods are only accepted at Stations in EM unless explicitly requested other wise.......;)

Yep! I needed to go to the station instead of the cruiser! I'm an idiot as I expected, haha. Good to know there is a difference between the 2 now. Well all is going pretty smoothly I must say. So to keep progressing on my military career I just hang out in warzone sectors and run missions? Anything Else I should be doing? How can I tell which sectors are warzones?
