uhm hi i'm new around here and i couldn't find anything about this topic
I mean it feels really stupid to even ask that and this might actually be the first game thats making me ask this:
what the hell am i going to spend all my money on? i've only been playing for two days now but after the first day i already had heaps of money, had the most expansive civilian frame equiped it with everything that was shiny and expansive... well then i built some stations bought some too made some hundered million credits more but i kinda dont know what to spend this treasure on... so whats the point in having millions of credits? is money important in territory warfare? do the military ships cost a billion each? i mean i'm not paying for anything... i can produce my own fuel, repair my ship myself, my excalibur reload themself... i dont even have to buy a freaking new ship when i fly my old one into a planet at 10k+ speed... isnt there a money sink anywhere in this game?
sorry if i am exaggerating anything or making your eyes bleed with my grammar and spelling (its kind of really late here in germany) still thanks in advance for any answers

help! I am drowning in credits!
Hi Fifthsomeone, welcome to the forum and the sim!
Basically, I agree that more money sinks would be nice. My method was to sponsor events like the Last Man Standing and earth Landing contests. The thing is that a lot of people say the opposite, that money is hard to come by and they can't even afford gas. It's kind of a balance thing.
Are you playing in SP or in MP? In MP credits are a lot easier to come by as well, and I believe that the game was balanced more with SP in mind.

Hi fifthsomeone, and welcome!
Besides what the others posters explained, in the end, you're kinda right - there aren't any real _necessary_ money sinks. You _can_ spend your money on what the guys explained, but you don't have to. That's an intended feature, to allow players to have easy access to all the games' features (as opposed to grinding away for a month to be able to buy the next better civvy frame), and not have to worry about money, instead being able to spend their time doing whatever they want: exploring, mining, contracts that may or may not pay off, buying any and all equipment, building stations all over the place, whatever. It's intentional that money is not a major burden, as it would kinda take away from the freeform aspect of the game.
Have fun, and enjoy being rich - at least in the game!

Try letting a Legend/FleetAdmirral choose the satilite cleaning contract for you and your pay will go from 11,000 to 111,000!From post: 125617, Topic: tid=8506, author=Letoras wrote:I know this is an old thread but if you have some money you cannot spend please i know what to do with some of them, cleaning the satelites is an honest job but does not pay very well.
2 days a go I saw some new players do cleaning contracts in Saphire at Evochron Station for 11,000 credits per cleaning so I decided to help the poor fellas out. And started choosing the contracts for them and doing some cleaning with them and so the cleaning went twice as fast and the credits they got was 10x more.....

Being a space janitor is fun and rewarding! From post: 125617, Topic: tid=8506, author=Letoras wrote:I know this is an old thread but if you have some money you cannot spend please i know what to do with some of them, cleaning the satelites is an honest job but does not pay very well.
Okay, no, not really, I kind of agree with you. Fortunately, the rate at which you gain credits in this game scales up pretty fast. Seems the more you have, the more you'll make. It might be monotonous at the beginning, but give it awhile and soon you'll be in the same situation as the original poster.
There is a fine balance between having a sandbox game and having an economic space trade & combat simulation game. Lean too much towards the sandbox side of things and things might feel too easy for the people looking for a simulation experience. Lean too much towards the simulation side and you're faced with complicating game mechanics such as inflation/deflation and monetary circulation, which may make the game feel too hard for those expecting a sandbox experience.

Never fear! I have some prime real estate for sale on Cerulean that I'm sure you just can't live without! This is a once in a lifetime opportunity, so act now! Simply transfer all of your credits to me and soon you'll be swimming on the shores of the beautiful Cerulean toxic gas flats. It's literally a once in a lifetime opportunity.

LOL....You have to keep up with the trend Flying Brick. "What is new today is old tomorow" is the old saying.
The new one is "What was in a minute ago is old the next" I know bricks can be very old and having a hard time keeping up but it should be easier for a flying one, keeping up that is!......Oh I forgot to mention: It is all relative!.....
:P
