Yo! So I found this little gem on steam today and it reminded me so much of Privateer and Freelancer that I thought I'd grab the demo and give it a shot.

So far I'm blown away at all the options available to me and a little overwhelmed hahah....but in a good way XD
My biggest problem is combat >.> I've been spoiled by Freelancer's easy combat and could use a few tips and tricks for a starting combat oriented pilot.

Oh about multiplayer, is there pvp? And if so how bad is the "blowing up every newb" attitude?

Hi Cain and welcome to EM and the forums! :)

I'd recommend you join MP. It's a whole different attitude from Freelancer - friendly, helpful, fun etc. If you wanna PvP you can, there's always people on who like to join you. If you don't, that's fine as well. There's tons of other stuff to do. Besides, joining MP will reduce your learning curve drastically as you will receive a lot of help from other players.

Cya out there hopefully!

Hello Cain3k, loved privateer and freelancer myself, yes you can definitely pvp in multiplayer, one of the best aspects of this game! Clan BA is legendary here for "welcoming" newbies but usually won't grief you afterwards, its more of a rite of passage around here so its actually an honor. Mecingo's combat tutorials are one of the best sources for combat in this game. Don't know the link from memory but type in his name in the search button and click on his combat tutorial under his signature. Hope to see you in multiplayer soon!:)

Yes tons of PVP!!! Combat is easy but you need to build your rank and ship up.
I was able to get to the highest rank of Legend and Fleet Admiral with over 7 billion credits in just four months.
That means playing everyday mining, trading and running contracts.
The smart thing about building rank is you really learn the game. Even now in my 7th month, I am still learning.
The battles are like chess games and the graphics and sound are incredible.
Enjoy and welcome

Hi Cain3k. As Sundalo mentioned, Clan BA are really the only ones that would attack a new player. It is indeed a right of passage and is always meant in good fun. Plenty of warning is always given by us and new players are rarely, if ever jumped with out notice by any other pilot. Once the deed is done you will be safe from attack from us unless you want to continue the fight, then all bets are off! Otherwise we have even been know to help out the new player (but just don't tell anybody. We have a rep to uphold)

We will also never attack over and over again. We dont grief, we play!

Welcome to the game and I hope that either myself or my clan will see you on line soon. :P

Hi Cain3k, welcome to the game and forum. There are only a few clans that perform the blowing up ritual of welcoming new players. But now with the influx of hundreds of new palyers there is a small lucky chance for the only 3 [BA] clan members to welcome every new pilot...so do not worry about being blown up!.......;):P:P:P:P:P:P:P:cool:
