completed mission but

I compledted the Story escort mission (2nd combat), got the message stating where to go next, but got destroyed right after. I think it autosaved because that mission is no longer available where I was docked. does this mean that i got the reward and can move on?

There's an option in News where you click on a button to view the last quest message. If it's a new message, then you've completed the one you were working on.

Maybe, but you can click on the option to recall the last quest message to make sure. If the old message is displayed, then the escort mission will need to be completed again and then your profile saved.

The message will still be there due to your profile being saved.

Well I somehow completed the mission, bonus for me. Hey, does my reputation follow across different ship frames? For example I have a striker on one station, but a talon on another just for mining.

Your reputation follows your pilot profile, not your ship. In MP, "global" reputation is forever fixed IAW local alliances.
