Greetings all!

I'm new to EM having only stumbled across it being mentioned on a forum yesterday after searching Google for 'best space sims'. I've been a fan of space sims for years, some of my favourites being Tie Fighter, Freespace 2, I-War 2 and to some extent the X series. All of those games do certain things extremely well, but what I've always wanted is a game that combines it all into one package. I'd practically given up seeing as space sims are a dying breed these days, but now I've found EM.

I'm very impressed with what I've seen so far... exactly what I've been looking for. My only annoyance is that the Evochron series has clearly been around for some time, yet I've only just found it! Seems like a nice friendly community here too, which is nice. I haven't decided whether I will get involved with the online side of the game yet, but no doubt I'll be on the forums fairly frequently.

Anyway, enough babble. I have solar panels to clean. Time is money!

Hello and welcome!

Even if you are not a MP player, I do suggest that you try it out. Lots of help out there
and you will learn a lot faster.

I also suggest that you do the IMG Quest. It teaches you a lot and you can do it
in MP as well. Others might jump in and help you on the contracts!;)

Appreciate the welcome, thanks guys.

Really enjoying the game so far. Playing it safe as a miner at the moment, saving cash for a new frame and some fancy upgrades. Once that's done I'll probably make a start on IMG quest. Or maybe I'll go scorch some rebel scum with the shiny new laser I bought yesterday. Who knows? One of the beauties of the game!
