There is a demo you can play for free. I can't say you can feel your guns firing but you can darn well feel it when you get hit!
Altho this is not an MMO, there is a deicated server that runs 24/7 and it is free.
The server can support up to 35 players at a time.
You will find the players to be helpful and generous and they will not pounce on you.
MP is a good place to meet others and make friends.
Creator support is unequaled by any other game.
Try the free demo and then decide.

Up to 35 people on a server at once. I'd say it usually averages about ten people on at once depending on what time you're on. Have you tried the demo out yet?
Edit: Oops, I was AFK there and never refreshed the page. MM got in before me and with more information too. He's the man to ask about the online side of things.
