Hello!
I've been playing EM for about a month now (single player). I love this game! One thing though is that I'm not exactly getting rich. I find that the best way for me to make money is either by mining or finding floating containers with the help of my Science and Navigation officers. If I fly higher paying missions, the only way I can survive is with the help of a fleet and a bunch of Exodus missles, which eat seriously into my profit margins.
Anyway, I've finally saved up about 12,000,000 credits, and am in the market for a Starmaster. I've looked in many systems to find one - even systems in which I've seen them previously for sale. For some reason, I just can't seem to track one down. I'm flying a Mammoth right now, and would like a little more build capacity and stronger armor.
Any advice for a newbie?
Thanks in advance!

Yes, join MP for help in locating your ship and good trade routes.
You'll never find a more helpful bunch of pilots then you will in MP. Even the server talks!

You'll find a StarMaster on any of the Hidden Planets....
Oh, and welcome to the game and forum. See you out there some time...

Hi and welcome.
One way of increasing your profit is to start trading!;)
You can get really rich doing that.
As stated above, join MP and you'll get a lot of help.

If you can, join Mp sometime. Doing contracts with other pilots is another good way to earn profit...

Great advice - thanks! I have very little experience with MP in general. In other games, I usually get swiftly dispatched and find it frustrating. I have found one hidden planet, but it's way off the beaten path. I'll make a trip there and see if I can pick up a Starmaster. Once I have my new ship, I'll drop into MP and see how long I can survive.
Thanks all!

That's the whole point of Merc MP. No one will pounce on you unless you want to and everyone will be glad to help. This is not "THAT" kind of game. All noobs are welcome and treated with respect. From post: 105333, Topic: tid=7474, author=Nebula B wrote:Great advice - thanks! I have very little experience with MP in general. ... As long as they don't use crude language. And as long as BA or Vonari pilots aren't in the area.

Lots of friendlies out there and it's really great player community. If you do have any trouble with 'pirates' or the like, you can report 'em to the GDF...
We'll be happy to lend a hand any way we can.
See you out there!
